OD uses two week sprints to organize our work.

We'll add work to this site as draft during each sprint and mark completed items as final draft upon release.

Functions:

• Host CDC-stewarded public use data sets
• Provide access to the public of data sets in highly usable, highly accessible manner
• Provide tools to public health programs and data stewards to minimize burden to publish, revise, and promote data sets
• Provide friendly customer service to the public to assist with accurate use of data sets
• Meet OMB M-13-13 section III.3.b requirement to produce CDC Public Data Listing file in JSON format per the Project Open Data metadata schema
• Test interoperability of hosted data sets with visualization and analysis tools
• Assess quality of data set descriptive metadata and provide guidance to data stewards for improving access to and use of their data sets
• In order to identify priority data sets for release and to improve data accessibility and web site function, gather usage and behavior analytics data on use and demand for public use data sets and make available to data stewards for improving access to and use of their data sets
